I wrote here the other day about the Republican lobbying firm of Barbour Griffith and Rogers and how they were helping out Ayad Allawi in his move to take over in Iraq. For all we know they are only supporting Allawi by legal means, while Bush, of course, registers his supposedly stanch support for Al-Maliki. Nope, the biggest Republican law firm of all doesn’t support Bush’s policy. My conclusions then were that Bush was such a lame duck that even Republican lobbyists who have worked in the past towards the goal of one-party rule (the K-Street Project) won’t touch his policies. Poor, poor Republican lobbyists, lost without Congress, can’t get enough paying lcients. So they take on failed leaders from other countries. . . even if they are funded by anonymous sources.
