We heard yesterday about the Audi that caught fire, the car at first was thought to be an Audi R8; it now seems that it is actually a RS8 test mule. The cause of the fire was due to the twin turbo V10 overheating. It seems as if Audi have not managed to get enough cooling to the 580-HP twin-turbo V10 engine. According to Paul Tan Werner Frowein the director from Quattro GmbH has said that it now seems as if they will not be able to install the twin-turbo V10 in the RS8, so it seems as if they will have to find an alternative powertrain.
