One of the disadvantages of big media coverage of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is that they cannot go into great detail due to lack of television time or newspaper space. The great thing about the Internet is, you could find good in-depth articles about the war in Iraq written by independent journalists embedded with American troops.While looking for reports from embedded journalists, I came across a very interesting embedded journalist. Wesley Morgan, who blogs at Notes from Downrange and The Fourth Rail, is a sophomore at Princeton (he's also in the ROTC program at Princeton and writes for the Daily Princetonian) who is amazingly spending his summer break by embedding with American troops in Baghdad and surrounding areas. For someone who's only 19, he's a very good writer and his reports easily convey the environment from which he writes.Today, Morgan has a good in-depth report about following General David Petraeus as he visits several bases and outposts around Baghdad.
