Activision and Discovery Communications have announced a partnership to create several animal-themed video games. The games will be tied to Discovery’s Animal Planet channel, and may be based on such shows as “Meerkat Manor” and “Orangutan Island.” “We are really trying to get away from being a cable company and into being a content company,” [Discovery Chief Executive, David] Zaslav said. The first of these games should be launching late next year. Thus far though, there have been no further details on what sort of games they plan to produce. Personally, I’m hoping for a GTA knock-off where you play as a meerkat out on the African plains. With a rocket launcher, just like in their natural habitat.
