I have avoided writing about the personal lives of the Men in Trees stars. I prefer to just imagine these talented actors as the characters they portray. Let me begin by saying that I think Anne Heche is an amazing actress, and I thoroughly enjoy her vulnerable, honest, wise, and down-to-earth portrayal of Marin Frist. But, it’s impossible to avoid the news being widely reported by the Associated Press, BBC, and many others. Here’s the story from the beginning: Anne Heche marries Coleman (Coley) Laffoon, a videographer, in 2001. Soon after, the couple has a son, Homer. In February, 2007, Heche files for divorce. And it’s messy. (I don’t know how or if co-star James Tupper figures in. The marriage was troubled.
