A Second Chance and We Are Thrilled

I got the greatest news ever today! What was sure to be one of the worst phone calls I have ever had to make as a parent, turned into the best news I’ve had in a long long time. I got Justin’s school packet in the mail with his schedule and information for next year. When I opened it up on Saturday, I was disappointed that they had listed him as 8th grade, and he was assigned to all 8th grade classes. I fretted about this all weekend long, and it just reminded me of how upset I am about him failing 7th grade. I wasn’t looking forward to calling the school today and pointing out their error. It just made it all so real. But this is when it all turned around! When I told the registrar why I was calling she said, “Oh yes, Justin. Let me grab that file.” She came back on the phone and said his counselor had decided to promote him based on his test scores, but that he will be taking one semester of Math 7 instead of his elective (to earn the credit),
