As the Mets seem to suffer a little more this season than last on in the injury front, some folks out there seem to think some of the Mets are a bit soft. Soft for going on the DL. Soft for wanting to spend a game or two on the bench after spraining or pulling one muscle or the other. You have ever right to think this. But you're wrong.Theres some things maybe you're overlooking. For example, the season is long. Its not Football, where you play once a week and can spend a few days resting up or exercising lightly while watching tape. You run into that outfield wall at full speed, there's still a game tomorrow. And Tuesday. And Wednesday. The baseball season is a marathon, and playing hurt is going to make it worse as opposed to magically healing it.
