A Note from the Teacher: School Is Out, and So Are the Kids!

Happy Friday! Most schools that break for the summer are letting out this week. This means lots, and LOTS of kids out in the community during the day that aren’t usually around during the school year: on playgrounds, in malls, and in stores. Other places they will show up are parking lots, sidewalks, and streets. Hopefully they have been taught proper safety and are being properly supervised, but that doesn’t mean that all adults shouldn’t be extra careful: * Drive slowly in residential areas. * Be careful backing out of parking lot spaces * Be careful when backing out of driveways Parents and caregivers: * Make sure your children have proper supervision * Teach them rules about watching for cars, crossing the street, and the proper rules for bicycling * Teach young children to watch out for one another and use the buddy system. BE SAFE and watch out for others!
