7 People Arrested for Cheering at Graduation |

According to AOL News, seven people were arrested for cheering at a high school graduation in Rock Hill, S.C. Evidently school officials told the audience to hold their applause until the end of the ceremony and when the seven people didn t, they were escorted out, cuffed and taken to jail. The people at the graduation who were accused of loud cheering were charged with disorderly conduct. Police said that the seven people yelled after students names were called. Rock Hill police began patrolling commencements several years ago at the request of school districts who complained of increasing disruption. Those attending graduations are told they can be prosecuted for bad behavior and letters are sent home with students. All the cases, except for one that includes a resisting arrest charge, will be handled in a city court and are punishable by a maximum of 30 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
