Naveen: Macallan whiskies are certainly meant for those with a few dollars to burn. Lately, a 1926 Macallan, bottled in 1986, went for US $54,000 and was announced as the most expensive bottle of Scotch ever sold by Christie's anywhere in the world. Now, the world renowned brand of Scoth whisky is offering 55-year-old single malt in a Lalique crystal container in a limited edition for US $11,840. Only 420 bottles will be available for sale. The single malt, released first in 2006, was matured in Scotland for half a century in a sherry oak cask. Marc Laverdiere of Macallan cited that the whiskey in it will mature gracefully over a long period of time. The super-expensive 55-year-old Scotch whiskey is the just right you could gift to someone with rich taste. via Reuters [ Full article ] |
