I've been diving in and out of Crisis On Jimmy's Farm (BBC2, Wednesday, 7pm) like a lamb in sheep dip over the last few weeks. Apparently Jimmy Doherty, the centrepiece of the show, is a pal of Jamie Oliver's... but I won't hold that against him. Jimmy, as the title suggests, has a farm with pigs and cows and ferrets and guinea pigs and hay... and loads of mud. As unthrilling as that all sounds, ...Jimmy's Farm is as real as reality TV can ever hope to be. Jimmy Doherty gave up the rat race in the city to run a pig farm. I'd love tp report on a lovely cultural idyll for you, where we see Jimmy gamboling around the fields with a piglet at his breast... but that's not the real world bucko. Jimmy seemingly has a steady stream of worry and crises coming his way. Foot and mouth... inspections from the RSPCA... the accountants' telling him to make money (and fast) or face closure...
