Devolo who are the Powerline networking specialists will demo the Ethernet-over-the-mains prototype which is capable of churning out up to 400Mb/s bandwidth, so far so good hey. The 400Mb/s unit gets prepped by Powerline Ethernet specialist Devolo but the details are be kept hidden in a dark place until they show the kit off at the CeBIT show in Hannover. Does this mean that the kit will consist of two separate 200Mb/s HomePlug AV that sit side by side between the mains power cables and a Gigabit Ethernet port? Who knows only they will tell you when they are ready we guess. So if you pair 200Mb/s adaptors that means Devolo will essentially double up the available bandwidth, Just as 200Mb/s powerline Ethernet doesn’t deliver that perfect-world throughout which means 400Mb/s units will only deliver the real world speeds of up to 180Mb/s.
