I'm not a superstitious person. True, I own a black cat named "Fortuna," but the name doesn't have a mystical connection. When the skittish stray first appeared around my house, the only thing that lured her close was a can of dolphin-safe treat. She came... for tuna. I don't worry about walking under ladders. I travel on Friday the 13th. I own no lucky shirts, shoes, coins, or animal appendages. Still, I have to tell you, I'd think twice about living in any town so nice they named it twice. New York City, New York suffered through the tragedy of 9/11 (just ask Rudy, he'll be happy to tell you about it). Oklahoma City, Oklahoma also had it's tragedy (conveniently ignored in any discussion of terrorism, due to lack of scary brown people). But before either of them, there was another tragedy, one that still echoes. And it happened in another of those twice-named cities: Texas City, Texas.
