[Tim Cameron] The Post & Courier is reporting that three Charleston area Republicans have lined up to replace Converse Chellis, who was recently elected State Treasurer. The candidates are Jenny Anderson Horne, Mike Murphee, and Sherry Shealy Martschink. You may remember Sherry Shealy Martshink as a former state legislator and Lt. Governor candidate. You also may remember that Martshink is the sister of political consultant Rod Shealy, and when she ran for Lt. Governor; her brother Rod recruited a black fisherman to run against her in order to scare white Republican voters to the polls. Horne is an attorney and a real estate broker. Murphee is a Dorchester County councilman and a business owner. Unfortunately there hasn't been any professional fisherman to enter this race. But you never know this is the Low Country after all.
