2K Games released an official statement concerning yesterday’s heated situation concerning the early release of BioShock. Apparently some retailers were prematurely selling copies. Apparently, the entire rumor of an early released was basically caused by a shady retailer who tried to take advantage of a situation. At this point, I am not sure who the retailer was, but would love to find out. 2K’s statement from their official site is below: It recently came to 2K Games' attention that one of our retail partners prematurely sold some copies of BioShock prior to the game’s official launch date. Retailers are typically shipped product in advance to ensure they can meet launch day demand on street-dated product. As a result, a few people were able to purchase the game early.
