Some recent polls posted over the weekend since the Republican National Convention have seemed to show a large increase in support for the McCain-Palin ticket, sending some Democrats into a tizzy.Take a chill pill! National polls mean almost nothing; this is a state-by-state election, decided by the Electoral College. As Hillary Clinton learned in the recent primary contests, running a campaign on the “popular vote” while ignoring the “rules” of the electoral process (in the case of the primaries, it was the “delegate count”), can be a sure road to defeat. A better way to gauge the contest is to study an electoral college map.
