From 1969: “I’d like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we’ve passed the audition”. - John Lennon, Get Back Earlier this year, Baptist preacher and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee won the Iowa GOP caucuses, based on his schwing in the evangelical community. And then, that’s where his campaign died. He struggled the rest of the way, but became a media darling because of his personal affability, his self-styled rock and roll cred (he’s a base player), and the support he received from the evangelical community. Still, he continued campaigning right up to the point where the math no longer added up, and John McCain became the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Now he’d like to be McCain’s running mate.
