The following is the third in a short series articles on the FISA bill approval on 7/9/08. FISA: Why I Can No Longer Vote for Barack Obama FISA: The Morning After, Part 1 FISA: The Morning After, Part 2 Russ Feingold, D-Wi: I sit on the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees, and I am one of the few members of this body who has been fully briefed on the warrantless wiretapping program… If we grant these new powers to the government and the effects become known to the American people, we will realize what a mistake it was, of that I am sure… Russ Feingold knows. Don’t ask him what he knows, but he knows. He was issuing a warning yesterday: If the American people really knew what was going down, and how truly egregious the Bush administration’s lawbreaking has been in pursuit of domestic surveillance and spying on average citizens, there would be a public outcry and uprising the likes of which this country hasn’t seen in over 200 years.
