Promoted by Dan McLaughlin. Because whoever you like in 2008, we have a better candidate running in an election today. It's a beautiful day in Louisiana. The polls opened at 6 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m. Auburn-LSU kicks off at 8 p.m. Secretary of State Jay Dardenne is expecting a turnout of maybe 50%. Remember, if Bobby Jindal gets 50% of the vote, he will be the next governor of Louisiana. Less than 50%, and there will be a runoff Nov. 17. Returns should begin rolling in about 9 p.m. CDT. Tepid Turnout Expected [O]ther activities are competing for attention, including major LSU, Southern University and other college football games today as well as the opening of deer hunting season in parts of the state. Elections officials said items down ballot from the governor's race that are more local in nature will likely have more to do with voter turnout.
