As a former Student Conservation Association (SCA) corps member, I can honestly state getting out of New York and into the wild was a positive life changing experience. The SCA continues to work on conserving the federal parks system with the help of legions of summer volunteers, a dedicated staff, and alumni. After winter storms caused extensive damage, 2,000 volunteers are expected to roam the backcountry toiling on Mt. Rainier's frayed trail system. ( Seattle- PI) Read the comments on this post...
