Michelle's thrifty snack hack: When you're getting ready to go on a long car trip, go though your cupboards. Pull out all those forgotten about bags of whatever (Goldfish, graham bears, pretzels, Pirate's Booty, raisins...). Put a bit of each in a Ziploc bag and mix it up. You'll have a clean cupboard, and the kids will have a special "car mix" snack. My kids love to poke though theirs and pick their favorites out! Good for lunchboxes, too. Add a few nuts and some M&Ms and you'll have some decent trail mix for a hike. Related: Lots of great road trip tips in the Travel/Going Out archive [ Full article ] |
