Title: Wild Strawberry Movement in Central Taiwan [台灣中部"野草莓"學運進行中] View count: 526 Rating: 5.0 (5 ratings) Description: Starting Nov. 6, 2008, Taiwan students realized the present pro-China, ROC government led by Drs. Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九, 1981 Harvard S.J.D) and Liu Chao-shiuan (劉兆玄) did not really wish to continue democratizing Taiwan and protect Taiwan people's civil rights and our country from the aggression of PRC, so they initiated a peaceful sit-in in Taipei. Now, this student movement has spread to other parts of Taiwan ... This video was recorded on Nov. 11, 2008 at the Civil Square of Tai-Chung City, where many students and teachers from central Taiwan areas participated in the "Wild Berries Movement (野草莓學運)". The present ROC premier Dr. Liu Chao-shiuan (1971 Ph.D. (Organosilicon Chemistry), U. Toronto, Canada) just commented publicly "This student movement would not last for more than two days and it would soon be over ... just like when some senators had asked me to apologize for my incompetence, I didn't respond and the thing was quickly over!" Dr. Liu, you will find out that the patience and perseverance of these students and teachers participating in this movement will definitely outlast what you were hoping for, and you will have to apologize someday for your sending riot policemen to inhibit Taiwan people from voicing their anger against PRC's aggression towards Taiwan when PRC's envoy Chen Yunlin visited Taiwan. The Wild Strawberry (or Berries) Sit-In Protests have three 3 major demands: First, President Ma and Premier Liu should apologize for the violent actions of the police during protests against the visit of Chinese envoy Chen Yunlin to Taiwan. Second, the director of National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior Mr. Wang Zo-Zin and Director General of National Security Bureau, Tsai Chau-Ming, should take responsibility for the improper actions of the police and resign from their positions. Finally, we demand that the government change the "Assembly and Parade" Law, a relic of the martial law era often used to curb public protest in Taiwan, to enable the people assemble at any time and place, requiring only notification to the police, not their permission. The current "Assembly and Demonstration" laws are actually unconstitutional, violating ROC's constitutions! But we Taiwanese all know that many of the foreign ROC's laws are set up in Taiwan to rule Taiwan people, not to rule the KMT top politicians and their cohorts who oppose the ongoing Taiwan Independence and Democratization Movements and identify themselves wth PRC; while they enjoy living in free Taiwan, the ruling KMT minorities, oppose further Taiwan democratization demanded by most Taiwan residents!
