John Safran's Race Relations 9:30pm Wednesday, 11 Nov 2009 Entertainment CC M Website Through his reading, John comes across Henry Makow, a fat, old white guy who went to the Philippines to find a bride. Makow claims that Asian women stay attractive for longer than Western women. Fascinated by this premise, John figures out a way to test the claim. It involves exceedingly awkward confrontations with his ex-girlfriends and excruciatingly tender moments with their mothers. Convinced that he is Eurasian-girl-crazy John recalls his failed relationship with the half-Chinese Deborah. After she left him, John not only wrote a note pretending to be a woman having an affair with Deborahs new boyfriend, but he even fantasised about killing himself to ruin their union. He realises that his obsession continues to this day. John determines he must sever all ties with Deborah in order to free himself up for a new love. Embarrassed to confront her five years after their breakup, John bumbles off to the Intelligent Robotics University in Osaka, in search of a proxy Deborah. The confrontation gets out of hand, leaving John hot and bothered, his issues still unresolved. Desperate to rid himself of Deborah, John flies to Africa, to take part in a death ceremony that will cleanse him of his past. A voodoo, drug and alcohol-induced madness occurs, leaving John broken and more confused than ever. Seeing that none of his efforts have worked, John finally nuts up and confronts Deborah and her now-husband Barry. Afraid that they wont agree to an interview, he tricks Deborah and Barry into meeting him and launches into the most awkward confession ever.
