This practice is perpetuated because the prophet Mohammed married a 9 year old girl called Aisha. Many Muslims contend that what was good enough for their prophet, who they believe lead a 'perfect' life, is good enough for them. Why do we not see any moderate Muslims and their apologists demonstrating about this vile religiously condoned practice, which is commonplace in countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Somalia?
