Title: Torino 2006 OC - The Olympic Oaths and the Symbol of Peace View count: 4332 Rating: 5.0 (10 ratings) Description: These set of clips are almost done. First in this one, the Olympic oaths are taken by these two people: - Giorgio Rocca of the Italian alpine ski team, in behalf of all Olympic athletes. In an incredible winning streak in that 2005 - 2006 FIS season, he won 5 consecutive World Cup slalom races from December 4, 2005 to January 15, 2006. He has not won an Olympic medal yet, but has won 3 bronze medals in the World Championships in the past. - Fabio Bianchetti, an ISU (International Skating Union) official, takes the oath in behalf of all Olympic judges. The commentator here was "not fond" of this scenario because some Canadians were, and still are, aware of what happened at Salt Lake City 2002 with Jamie Salé and David Pelletier in the pairs event. Next, some acrobats perform their dance on a screen above the main stage to "symbolize peace". In the climax of it in the end, they all come together to form their version of the WHITE DOVE. Finally, to some dismay of some I have met over the months, Yoko Ono comes on stage to read her speech about peace. Whether you want to see or not that part of this clip, it is up to you.
