Title: TONY WILSON A WHALING STORY A lucky wager View count: 22 Rating: 0 (0 ratings) Description: When I was in a school in Hull for a one day writing workshop I was asked to write a number of stories about the whaling industry from 1750 to 1850. I wrote four stories with the children, two in the first person and two in the third person. The idea was to get some facts about the on-board and on-shore work involved with this treacherous, dangerous trade. Two stories featured women and two featured men; "The Galley-boy's tale", "The Captain's Tale", "The Lucky Wager" and "Joined Beneath The Sea". They have been collected together on one DVD as 'Whale Tales'. This is a first person, alphabet story, where words associated with the story are collected in alphabetical order and then told as a story.
