Title: Tibetans Killed by Chinese Earthquake View count: 2037 Rating: 1.87 (15 ratings) Description: Countless numbers of Tibetans have perished in the massive May 12 earthquakes in Sichuan Province. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Ngawa (Naba) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Wenchuan County, where over half the population is Tibetan. Sharon Stone is an idiot. The earthquake has affected Tibetans in the Aba, Kandze, Dhartsedo and Qiang Autonomous Prefectures. The official deathtoll is currently in the hundreds (May 14), but the true number of deaths is thought to be much higher as thousands of Tibetans remain trapped under collapsed buildings. It is feared that these figures will increase substantially as the infrastructure in transport, communications and other services is poor. The Chinese government has ordered a full-scale rescue effort following the massive May 12 earthquake in Sichuan province. Tibet Foundation is urgently seeking to raise £20,000 for immediate rehabilitation and reconstruction work in the Tibetan areas in which we have been working since 1993 through our Aid to Tibet programme.
