As a result, the vampiric spirit of Katherine is manifesting itself in Elena, possessing her mind and body at all the wrong times. Bonnie works to help her friend Elena by means of the supernatural, meanwhile looking into Selene's history to get some clue as to how to defeat her. Bonnie comes across the legend of the vampire princess Sonja, learns her backstory, and reincarnates her using her witch powers. Sonja may very well be the only hope Elena, Stefan, and Damon have of taking Selene down for good.
