Title: The Master of the Carriage Part4 GReek subs View count: 49 Rating: 5.0 (1 ratings) Description: A marvelous parable which explains a lot about people. When I read ιτ for the first time, long time ago, I was enchanted and it really had a great impact on me. I read it first from the books of Gurdjieff and his students, and then I came across an altered version in the dialogues of Plato (Phedrus). Much later I found that the original comes from the oldest books saved today: The holy scripts of the Hindus, the Vedas. It is written in the Upanishads (philosophical books of Vedas added later, around 800 - 600 BC from unknown writers in India). The Upanishad where this allegory comes from is Katha Upanishad. I hope it is as enlighting for you as it was for me... "The charm and apparent naivety in this short film are deceptive. The viewer, like the carriage driver, may well be called into posing a serious question: Am I master of myself?" - Andrei Serban, Opera & Theatre Director.
