I was about to be immortal...if I could just kill this 100 headed beast in front of me. What did that old guy say? Burn the heads or something??? I grabbed a torch and cut off a head, then burned it. I did that over and over until the whole beast was dead. I grabbed one head, and flew up to Heaven to where my father was. Oh did I mention my father was Zeus, the Lord of The Sky, and my mother, well, she's a stupid mortal. As soon as I got up to heaven, Hermes, the Lord of Messengers, Travelers, and Thieves stopped me. Hermes:Stop child. Your father is in no mood to speak with you. Me:Hermes. I have the Hydra's head. I killed it. Hermes: How do we know you didn't just cut off one of the heads and leave the rest? The hydra is still probably lurking outside its cave, waiting for another meal. Me: Let me through! Or even better, call Apollo!! He'll know! Hermes: Annabeth, you don't know how much I would like to let you in, but Athena, Zeus, Poseidon, and Ares REFUSE to let you in. He snapped his fingers, and I floated slowly to the ground. Great. Now I will never get a chance. I was the first girl to be ever let on a quest from Zeus. He thought I was too... breakable. BREAKABLE. THE WORD MEANS NOTHING TO ME! I AM A DEMIGOD! I landed in New York. Well, since my father cares nothing for me, I might as well start a life of my own... I sighed and started down the street, dropping the hydra head as I trudged along. Sadly, I didn't notice the pair of red-hot eyes staring at me. Demetria: Well well well, if it isnt the daughter of Zeus. Me: Cousin, how are you? Demetria: DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME YOUR COUSIN YOU BRAT! YOU KNOW THE HYDRA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY MISSION! Me: Demetria,calm down! You know what happens to children of Hades, when they get angry. Demetria stepped forward, cornering me. Demetria: Oh I'm angry, all right! She snapped open her hand, and darkness flew out of it, draining my energy Demetria: DIE FOOLISH DEMIGOD! THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU WILL EVER SEE LIGHT! Me: NOT QUITE! I opened my hand and flung pure light at her, she cowered, but darkened the whole street. I could feel her cold hands at my throat, squeezing the life bit by bit out of me. I gasped, kicked , punched at darkness. She became darkness. Nothin could save me now. And since my father HATED me, I had no hope. Zeus: LET GO OF MY DAUGHTER!!! He flung lightning bolts at Demetria, but she just poofed into black mist. Zeus ran to me, something he would never do. Zeus: Annabeth? Are you alright? Me: Of course not. I could feel everything seeping out of me, my memories, love, my father... Zeus: Hold on!
