In addition we have the Kickboxing Workout course offered to women, for an energetic all-round workout with elements from kickboxing. - Kung Fu Toa is a classic martial art which includes physical as well as mental conditioning by traditional workout, improvement of stamina, basic techniques, exercises in form, classic combat, animal-style combat, free-fighting and mental training. - Kickboxing, which is a full-contact sport, is divided into kickboxing with and without low kicks. With low kicks you may kick at thigh level, whereas without you may only punch and kick at the upper body. At The Colosseum we teach both disciplines. - Boxing, where one only concentrates on the upper body. This training can easily be combined with kickboxing and/or Thai boxing. If you are only interested in boxing, then you can take advantage of that as well. - Thai boxing, also known as Muay-Thai, originates in Thailand. In many ways it resembles kickboxing, but one of the main differences is that it is allowed to use elbows and knees. In Thai boxing, focus is on low kicks. As a result, part of the training involves strengthening the shins so as to be able to effectively execute kicks to the opponent's legs, as well as block those by the opponent. To achieve the best strengthening, shorts are traditionally worn during training instead of training pants. - MMA is a mix of Muay Thai, wrestling and Ju Jitsu. It is a tough style, because the fight takes place both standing and on the mats, and it involves a lot of gripping. Head locks, arm locks and leg locks are all allowed. Add kicks, punches and throws, and you've got the right idea. Shootfighting can be trained by the beginner, but you'll get the most out of it if you have experience with some other martial art. If you don't, we have many other classes at our club for you to try out. - Kickboxing Workout is kickboxing adjusted to better suit our female members. Focus is here on a good condition, physical strength and limberness while still teaching all the techniques of the martial art. With Kickboxing Workout you'll gain an effective fat burnrate, harmonic toning and build-up of muscles all over the body, as well as a greater self confidence. Kickboxing Workout is especially suitable for those without the intention of entering fights.
