I smiled knowing in such reassurance of who it was. "Hey yourself-Birthday Boy." I smiled, turning around to face Nick. "Well, this is different-" Nick's eyes averrted on mines because he didn't seem to understand me. I giggled a bit and continued, "You normally don't come behind me and start kissing me like such. What if the paparazzi were to spot us here?" I bellowed silently. "Demi-" Nick started softly stroking my left cheek as he continued, "What is there to be afraid of? You are my fiance' right? There's nothing wrong with us showing Public Signs of Affection." He smirked. I shrugged and softly took his hand off my face to hold it up against my chest. His eyes hovered my hands as I filled the spaces in his fingers-to mine. "Let's just forget that." I said, I mean-I shouldn't complain; I sort of liked it. "Anything you want Demi." He sighed in depression and I raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong with you Birthday Boy?" I smiled, resting the back of my hand on his forehead to see if he's Sick. He wiped my hand of his forehead and chuckled, "Birthday (Man) to you." He winked, I rolled my eyes playfully. "Look, before I forget- I didn't give you you're ring. The one Cody was so kiss-ass to buy us. So here-" And with that, Nick dug through his pockets and found the black box. He opened it and took it out of the box before clamping it Shut. I analyzed the ring, it was 14k. I stared in disbelief to even think Cody would buy this for us. Nick took me out of my daze by gently grabbing my right hand. I stared at him as he slowly slid the ring through my ring finger and before I knew it-I was Falling for Him even Harder. He looked at the ring on my finger and I looked at his. As we both put them on, a Red Light started flashing. One-blink, Two-Blink, Three-Blink. Only difference, the third blink was, blue? "I don't know why it does that either." Nick warned me, "But I guess it was just a kind gesture of Cody to add some lighting into it." "Oh okay then Mr. President." I said, smiling at the ring. "Don't get to carried away over this, the ring I'll get for you will replace this silver piece of crap." He muttered under his breath. I could sense he was jealous so I stopped flailing my hand around. I just wanted to let Nick know that, he wasn't going to lose me. Ever. "I'm not happy about giving this to you but-if I'm going to have to work with Cody in this buisness, I should learn to be the better person." Nick said, unsatisfied with himself. I nodded at him with reassurnace. Nick was the Better Person, Better than Cody woild ever Be. "Oh, There you Are Sir! Where have you been Nick, I was worried Sick!" Taylor screamed. She looked like a mess, her hair was spread out of her neat bun, her shirt had a snag, her foundation wasn't applied on her skin evenly and her body kept twitching. I walked closer to her for comfort. "Tay, Taylor, Listen-he's here, everythings fine. Just breathe, please?" I begged. "Okay, okay Dems. I'm fine, I'm fine." Silence took over as she continued breathing in and out. "See, there you go?" Nick said, patting her back lightly. Taylor finally redemmed herself and looked back at her Clipboard. "Well back to buisness, Nick I need you to go talk to Joe about what he'll say for the Speech. And Demi I'm going to need you to greet the guests as they take their seats. You know, put them in place. And as you've already done, the seating arrangements will be coordinated through group. Please, don't fail me." Taylor ordered, I nodded and kissed her cheek before I began walking away. "Wait-what about me?" I heard Nick say with a cocky grin on my face. "It's my Birthday isn't it?" I turned around and waved at him before going to work. As I approached the side of the beach where the guests were to enter- I saw Kevin sitting on a chair by himself. He looked glum so I decided to go to him. I slowly made my way towards Kevin but as I was about 3 feet closer, he looked up. I saw something in his eyes. He had a scornful smile and blood shot eyes. He wiped tears off his face and cleared his throat, "Oh, Hey Dems." "Kevin..." I quivered. Well, That's the end of Chapter 31. Oh, I wonder what's wrong with Kevin? But I still hope you enjoyed it.
