Title: Southern Pacific Baldwin Locomotive Steam UP, Memorial Day May 23,09 View count: 2515 Rating: 5.0 (15 ratings) Description: On Memorial Day Weekend the Southern Pacific 2472 ran in Niles Canyon, California. We filmed the photo run on the morning of May 23 . This locomotive is owned and maintained by the Golden Gate Railroad Museum. She was built in 1921 by Baldwin Locomotive Works and is one of the few Pacific 4-6-2s still running. If you enjoy this short video you will like the hour long DVD "THUNDER IN THE CANYON" produced for the museum. It tells the story of how this engine was saved and has some of the best run-by shots ever filmed of a steam engine. You will see what it's like to ride in the cab, see HD shots of cameras mounted on the boiler and see close up, the giant drivers slip on a oily curve. This is the one railroad DVD you can show to the entire family. To order Google GGRM. All the proceeds go to the museum. Please hit the HD button on the lower right side to watch in HD.
