Title: Socom Combined Assault Weapons Test M40A1 Sniper Rifle View count: 10775 Rating: 3.7777777 (18 ratings) Description: Basic Weapons Test: M40A1 (Marine Corps.) Sniper Rifle Review: For this review, the weakest scope is equipped (low scope, with a 1.5x and 3x view). A scope is equipped in this test as A - there isn't a point using a sniper rifle without one- they aren't accurate enough for it, and B- it's a sniper rifle - it's meant for ranged combat to some degree. Also to get the accuracy basics for the weapon, you need to be in first persion 'zoom' view. That said, this test is conducted with the low scope - so imagine the possibilities with the 12x or 16x (high) scope. The usual sniper ammunition for these rifles only pull 33 percent damage to armored enemies (admiral setting - clawhammer mercs only). If you aren't using a heavy caliber sniper rifle like the barret, then you're going to want to be aiming for head shots (pink mist, or white dust as it goes in Combined Assault). When using a sniper rifle, you are going to be caught in situations where, a pistol is going to be needed for rapid fire action. Those tactics are not present in this video, and will be in a sniper/pistol tactics video released later this week. For now, this focuses on rifle performance at various ranges. Common sense: You're going to get the most accuracy from a sniper rifle when you're prone on the ground, with a bipod, in scope view, and after a few seconds of breath steadying. These rifles are not meant to be fired when you are moving, as the accuracy drops dramatically - even at point blank range you can miss a target. Pay close attention to animations, and try to stop and duck if you absolutely have to fire when you're on the move. While in most cases, a skilled player will never need to use a sniper rifle outside of the M14, IW80, and M16 (with their high scope capability and equally long range capabilities). However, that said, a skilled player can use sniper rifles to exploit the slight damage per bullet over the 5.56 or 7.62 assault rifle classes. Combined Assault features many stages that are out in the open, where sniper rifles can be an invaluable support weapon. Though the M4A1 is limited to 25 shots (bolt action - five rounds to a full reload), that can mean 25 kills. Tags: socom, combined, assault, weapons, test, m40a1, sniper, rifle, Author: Raijin1999 |
