From May 2007 to February 2008, Short skirtZ have had over 500,000 plays on XFM uploaded and are still in the top 5 most listened to artists. They have received numerous positive reviews and critical acclaim liking them to bands such as the Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Blondie and Hole. In February 2008, main stream radio station XFM approached Short skirtZ to record material for a competition they were running. Throughout 2008 the band took part in the Surface Unsigned Festival, the largest live unsigned competition to be held in the UK. Out of the 11,000 bands that entered Short skirtZ made to the final 14 and in September 2008 they played at the Carling Academy Main Stage in Birmingham in front of over 2,500 people. It was at this time 'dre won Surface Unsigned Drummer of 2008 and the band received a series of glowing press reviews and industry acclaim. Now, more hungry than ever for success, the band continue to push their brand of high energy funk rock. With such a fantastic history behind them the future is looking good!
