Title: Scree Running View count: 52 Rating: 4.857143 (7 ratings) Description: When I was a kid we used to do what we called 'scree running' (which is a real thing apparently - do a youtube search for evidence), which basically involved running as fast as possible down a hillside trying not to fall over. I am sometimes reminded of this when I think about that peculiar human ability to project ourselves incontinently into the future and engage what has been called the 'cognitive imperative'. It's almost as if we are not only cast into the world but that we also eccentrically cast ourselves forward head first into possible worlds that we might occupy if we don't fall over and die in the present.
