Title: Preparing to Level Up (Old Version) View count: 1456 Rating: 5.0 (6 ratings) Description: I don't know if I'm actually going to level up next or not, but sometime soon I need to start, because I don't have nearly enough gil to do much else before I start leveling. Even with the gil I have now, I won't be able to buy stat maxing equipment but for four characters. I have decided to start with Zidane, Vivi, Amarant and Quina. Zidane is a given. Since I only have 1 Dark Matter at the moment, I can switch giving it to Zidane and Amarant as they need it. Steiner will need it for all 98 of his level ups, so I need to wait a bit for him. The 3 girls all need Pearl Rogues for many of their level ups. I would have to auction the Ribbon before I could get one of those, let alone 2 or 3. The Ribbon auctions for about 75,000 gil, and as you can see by the end of this video I don't quite have enough for the Ribbon, let alone for the Ribbon and a few Pearl Rogues. Freya could go a while without a Pearl Rogue, but I think I want to get a few other characters leveled up a bit besides her. Also, I have decided to focus on Magic when leveling up Quina. Quina is the only character in the game that actually makes use of both Strength and Magic in his/her abilities. But it's only for a few of his/her abilites, most of the rest don't use either one. Quina has Counter, which would make use of Strength, but that's random anyway. The same can be said for Twister, though it is a group attack. White Wind will heal for 1/3 of Quina's max HP, again making use of Stength. But in the time it would take to cast White Wind, Auto-Regen/Auto-Haste/Max Spirit would likely make up the difference of a slightly lower max HP. With focusing on Magic, Goblin Punch will never do more than 2000, and Lv4 Holy caps out at 3100, and only 1/4 of the time. With focusing on Strength, Pumpkin Head can do at most 5970 damage. However, if you are going to put Quina at 1 HP to use Pumpkin Head, you might as well use Limit Glove, so you probably won't do more than 3000ish damage with Pumpkin Head in practical use. And that leaves Earth Shake to tip the scale in Magic's favor for me. A powerful group attack that can almost do max damage with a Gaia Gear. Quina can have a much higher Magic stat than Strength stat, so I'm going with Magic. Auction: Dark Matter, Thief Gloves Buy: 1 Orichalcon, 1 Magic Armlet, 1 Egoist's Armlet, 2 Power Wrists, 1 Cypress Pile, 1 Mantra Band, 1 N-Kai Armlet, 1 Holy Miter, 3 Dark Gears Synth: 1 Magician Robe, 1 Masamune Some of the stat maxing equipment is rather expensive, and I had just enough gil for all of this. I don't NEED the Thief Gloves or Cypress Pile, but they will be quite useful. It would be nice if everyone had Level Up mastered, and Quina having Millionaire mastered would be a nice bonus. Quina needs exactly 60 AP to master Millionaire, so I use the Green Nymph for that. Since I'm not trying to go fast, you can see all the other stuff I mastered. Everyone had Ability Up activated.
