Title: Portal cake W/ recipe below View count: 90271 Rating: 4.855803 (853 ratings) Description: *Please rate high... click for recipe* (update on 3/1/09: People are asking why I used Jawbreakers instead of cherries or strawberries. The reason is that I was going for the perfectly round, shiny, polished red orbs that are on the portal cake in the game. I also used the oreo cookie crumbs to create a texture on the cake. It's not quite perfect, but I will try again soon.) I made the cake from Portal for my son on Thanksgiving. It was moist and delicious. This is him cutting the cake for us. He seems rude, but we were just joking around.(view my other vids to see how sweet he really is.) If you would like me to make another cake, please let me know and I will. I enjoy cooking and have many photos of my work. easy recipie, Cake: I made a 2 layer devil's food cake from a store bought cake mix. Frosting: you will need 1 can chocolate frosting 1 bag of oreo cookies 6 red jawbreakers took the chocolate frosting and put it in a bowl. whipped frosting on high speed to make it more fluffy frosted cake with frosting took the oreos and removed the white filling from every cookie in the bag (this takes a bit) put the cookie parts in a chopper/blender and made "oreo dust" put the oreo dust all over the cake (this is tricky) took the oreo filling (only the whitest parts) and rolled them into balls which I then flattened into thick disks (make them very smooth and have sharp edges) smushed a jawbreaker in each put them on the cake. It took me a little while to make but it was good. please let me know how yours goes. You should make it for your mom on Mom's day. Tags: portal, cake, aperture, science, Author: metrykat |
