A game whos previous iterations have been one of the most popular games in japan! (At TGS in tokyo there was a 4 hour long line for excited gamers who would only be playing for a short while. Apparently it was worth it) In this game you play as a monster hunter (duh) with thier own weapons including a large heavy blade and even a crossbow. As the hunter you must travel the island that is ravaged by many different kinds of monster both big and small. Each monster (especially the bigger ones) are unique, in that some might have a poisnous tail which you would wanna cut off or a payralyzing bite that you would wanna avoid. You must be smart when fighting each monster and you can even set up traps for the more complex ones. One of the big selling points of the game would be that monsters in this game are very life like. You could watch two dragons fight for food in the distance or roll in the mud. Little baby monsters will play with each other and monsters will flee or atack when alarmed or hurt. The world consists of small areas to explore and fight monsters which are seperated by extremely quick loading screens. Monsters will be able to follow you throughout each area as well as you will be able to follow fleeing monsters into other areas. There are 3 control schemes. Wiimote and nunchuck, classic controller, and gamecube controller. (Wiimote being the one that is said to be most comforting) two player offline multiplayer is implemented. As well as 4 player co op for online. Players will meet in a hub on the coast of the island where they will most likely form parties and punch in friend codes. No word yet on whether wii speak will be in the game.
