Title: Monotonix Live in Seattle, WA/LIVEEYETV View count: 179 Rating: 5.0 (1 ratings) Description: Monotonix play live at Neumos in Seattle...Prt1 Having received mustache rides from the Universal Ritchie Blackmore and drunk from the Fountains of Deep-Purple Mudhoney, Israeli three-piece, Monotonix, have earned the legendary hair of rock 'n roll Formed in Tel Aviv in 2005 by singer Ami Shalev, guitarist Yonatan Gat and drummer Haggai Fershtman, Monotonix grew out of the disbanded Mono Addicted Acid Man and quickly burned through their welcome at the small handful of clubs equipped to put on rock shows! Obliterating the fourth wall between audience and band by setting up in various and always changing places, setting fire to their equipment, and hairy half-naked dance parties proved too much for the Tel Aviv of 2005, so the band took the party to the road invading Europe and the US in 2006. Logging over three hundred shows between 2006 and 2007, the bands reputation for turning any small club and audience into a spazzed out band of dancing nuts spread like digital VD across the rock blogs. The band signed to Drag City in 2008 and released their first EP, Body Language, recorded with Tim Green of the Fucking Champs, and have followed it up this year with Where Were You When It Happened? Heavy doses of party metal for sure, but true conversion happens when you find yourself down at your local club, drunk, with a hundred sweaty strangers licking the hairy feet of the high priests of boogie. Jaded hipsters and high brow aesthetes need not apply... Tags: monotonix, live, music, video, drag city, Author: liveeyetv |
