She opened the door to her balcony, took a blanket and sat down on the bench. She rested her head back not knowing what she was going to do. She had two great guys fighting for her affection. She squeezed her eyes tight, wishing that some how it would just come to her. She felt the weight of the bench change and look to the left of her. There he was. The boy that was causing he so much trouble, the boy she couldnt get over, the boy she loved. Ali stared into Nicks eyes for what seemed like forever. A smile crept up behind Nicks eyes. He could see all the love she felt for him in that exact minute. He knew he had just won probably the most important competition of his life. Ali leaned into his chest and let a few tears escape. He kissed the top of her head and wrapped his arms around her small torso. Ali started to chuckle to herself. What?, Nick whispered. Ali sighed and smiled up at him. Why does it always come back to you?, Ali said. Nick smiled and held her tight. I dont know, but its always you for me too, Nick said. Ali smiled. Its as if my world doesnt function if youre not in it, Ali said. I know how you feel, Nick said. Ali let out a soft laugh. She laid her head on Nicks shoulder looking up at the stars. It had finally come to forgiveness. She felt as though for the first time in months she was complete. She looked at the beautiful boy next to her. He was hers again and for always. She knew now that without Nick, she wasnt Ali. He was the biggest part of what made her Ali. She sat thinking, what now. Nick could sense her silence and worry. He placed two fingers under her chin and pulled her face up looking down into her eyes. Whats wrong?, Nick said. Ali sighed. She had finally realized why this decision had been so hard. Jason. She was going to break someone elses heart just to have her mended and to Ali that didnt seem right. She buried her head in Nicks shoulder. How was she ever going to tell him? What would he say? Would they still be able to be friends? No matter how much Ali loved Nick, Jason helped her become strong again. He was there for her, he didnt judge her as just Nick Jonass ex-girlfriend. He got to know her and made her feel beautiful and happy again. She owed all her happiness to him. Half the reason she knew Nick was the one was because it just wasnt the same with Jason. Ali started to cry, remembering everything he had said to her in the car. Nick rubbed her back finally realizing what was wrong. Its going to be ok, Nick whispered in her ear. She buried her face deeper into her shoulder. Here she was crying over another boy when the one she really wanted sat in front of her. She leaned away from Nick looking up at the stars. You know he asked me to be his girlfriend tonight, Ali said. Nicks breathing half stopped. You said no?, Nick asked. Ali turned toward him as if the answer should be obvious. I told him I needed to think about it, Ali said tears welling up in her eyes. Nick quickly wiped them away as they spilled over. Ali, is this a mistake, he said, not questioning her love for him, but her love for Jason. For a longtime Ali was quiet. Nick knew that if she loved Jason as much or more then him, he would walk away without any more troubles. Sure, his heart would be broken, but her happiness meant more to him. Finally, Ali spoke. My world just doesnt work without you. You have a permanent hold on me and my heart. Its yours for as long as you want it and I have no problem with that. Jason made me happy, Nick. He made me feel like I was alive when I was with him, but when we were apart, its as if something was missing. That something was you, Ali said smiling towards the end of her declaration of love. Nick put a hand on her cheek, rubbing his thumb back and forth along her cheek bone. He stared into Alis eyes and slowly pulled her face to his, their lips meeting for the first time in months. If their lives hadnt been complete two seconds before, it was for sure complete afterwards. That kissed sealed the deal. Ali didnt care how hard it was going to be to tell Jason, she knew she had to. Nick was her everything. A quiet cough came from behind the two of them. Ali and Nick whipped their heads around to see Joe and Sam standing in the doorway. The two looked away awkwardly. Weve got to go. We have to film in the morning, Joe said with a smile. Nick stood to his feet leaning down giving Ali a quick kiss. Ill call you tomorrow, Nick said. Ali nodded, not meeting Sams eyes. Ill explain everything tomorrow, Ali said rising and walking into her room, pushing Sam out the door. Sam smiled to her self. Finally, Sam whispered as Ali pushed her out the door. Ugh, let me sleep, Ali said. She closed her door behind Sam, smileing to herself. She knew she wouldnt be able to sleep.
