What we wait all summer for. I guess you could say that I'm a band geek. Or just a geek in general. Hi. I'm Sierra Musa and yes I dont know who my real parents are. Yes I have a British accent. Yes, I'm not the most popular girl in school. Yes, everyone teases me about my accent and yes, I do love my accent. I'm not all that dorky. I do have some friends. The people that look past my accent. The people that are my friends and I am their's. Anyway, I am Sectional Leader for my section which is the flutes. Then one of the new-be's asked where I am from. Sarah- Where are you from? Sierra- I'm from Millersburg just like you. Sarah- Well it doesnt sound like it. I just ignore it when people say things like that. So my other Sectional Leader, Taylor Troutman, tells everyone to be quiet because it was time for announcements. Then Ashley walked by. She is Leader of Majorettes. I dont like her. She is the girl who makes everyone fell bad about themselves. She flipped her blonde hair back and gave me a look that was like "Nobody likes you British girl." Kelsey, Sectional Leader of clarinets and one of my friends, saw Ashley do that to me. She moved and sat near me. Kelsey- Dont pay attention to Ashley. Sierra- I'd like to.... Then we were instructed to line up so we could march down to the field. Sierra- Come on girls. Yes, girls. We had no guys in our section. So we line up. There are 7 of us. There are 3 flutes and 4 piccolos. Sarah, Maggie, and I are the flutes. Then Taylor T, Cassie, Shelly, and Alex are the piccolos. We march down. All we hear is the tap, tap, tap of the drum as we go down. So we get down there and we start to work on formations and the music. When we work on the music, Ashley and the Majorettes practice their routines. Well we do this formation and the flutes are extended out to the side. Well the side that we extend to, is where the Majorettes practice. So I'm on the end closest to the Majorettes and they are flipping their batons. So when Ashley flips her's, it comes over to me and hits me in the head. Ashley- (snotty) Oh sorry about that. She gets her baton and leaves. I continue to play. Well the French Horns, or Mellophones, are right behind us and the Sectional Leader is Taylor Miller, she is also one of my friends. Taylor sees it. After we are done practicing and we go to lunch break, Taylor comes up to me. Taylor M- You were right not to say anything to Ashley. You are so much better than her. Sierra- Thanks. Taylor M, Taylor T, Kelsey, and Maddie, she is Silks captain, come to my house to eat there. So we go to my house and my mom, or mum, is waiting for us in the kitchen. Brooke(my mum's name)- Hi girls. Now my mum had a normal voice. No accent. She is the woman who took me in when I was dumped on her doorstep. She adopted me. Maddie- Hi. Brooke- What are you girls hungry for? Sierra- What ever mum. Brooke- That makes it real easy. Sierra- Mac and Cheese. Ok? Brooke- Yes. So I take the girls up to my room. Yes, I have OJD. Dont know what that is? Obsessive Jonas Disorder. So we eat and then go back to Band Camp. The week goes on. Then all the Post Camp practices go by and it is time for the Public Performance. The theme this year is Rock Band and Guitar Hero. We play "School's Out", "American Woman", "Paranoid", "Enter Sandman", and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap." Then we also play some Pep tunes. After we are done, mum comes up to me. Brooke- That was amazing! Sierra- Thank you. So we go take off our uniforms and everything else. Then Mr. Campbell calls my name.
