I graduated in 1968 and have grown up and out some. lol. I've had a complete NEW name for the last 38 years, Joan Karen Hollis Atwell... Now please don't send me hate mail or bad comments if I didn't get all the info just right cause I was ab-libbing it, in a hurry and having a good ole time... 1. Don't BREAK your neck off trying to figure out who those good looking fellers are in the picture above me that I said I dated when I was reporting. Nothing serious for sure as I don't need to get any irate women's folk after me in fits of jeolousy. Back in that era some of us might be at the PELICAN's NEST in Spearsville, our local hang out, and get the notion to pile in one car, take off to the "BEAR's DEN" in Bernice, Dairy Queen or A &W Drive In, in Farmerville laughing all the way. Then we could see our sister town's good looking fellers, and get the special, a mixed up flavored fountion soda with every flavor in it they offered. Can't remember the name. It was pure AWFUL!. We'd call that triple dating!... 2. I will report more on our Spearsville boys baseball team winning Louisiana state champions games when I can gather more facts and get them straight. Hopefully I can get an interview with a one or two of our Spearsville BASEBALL PLAYERS if they will let me from our past sometimes at a future date. A few of them live close to me. Some that I know well have moved off to local towns and one or two further away... If you are ever in the area, make sure you reserve some time for Spearsville, in northeast Louisiana. I am giving you my WORDof honor folks, It is, "The little town with a lot of unique history, back then and now. " And you know what...The food up this way isn't so bad either!... We would sure like to see ya, have a little visit and be able to say, "Now, ya'll come back now!"
