Gabriel and Veronica meet and at first, things go really well for them. But as Gabriel's darker, Sylar-esque side becomes apparent, Veronica pulls away. She starts dating Duncan, and Gabriel, enraged, kills him. When Veronica finds out about her new boyfriend's death, she is distraught, but doesn't realise what happened so when Gabriel is there to comfort her, she accepts him, albiet reluctantly. But they continue to argue and she can't stop her grief over Duncan. Eventually they have one final blowout and Veronica walks out for good. He tries calling her back, but she tells him to back off. He watches as she tries to move on with her life again, this time with Logan. He goes to see her again one last time to try and sway her and she gets mad, once again leaving. The Sylar-part of his personality takes over completely and he kills Logan. When Veronica gets the message of what's happened, she finally realises whose behind these murders. She sees him at a party and she runs off. She ends up on the roof, and they have one final confrontation.
