Title: I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down: Chapter 28 - A Jonas Story View count: 21 Rating: 3.0 (2 ratings) Description: The good mood continues so I'll post again. --------------------------------- After a quiet flight home they pull into their driveway around 4pm. As they get out of the car and grab their luggage from the trunk Kevin glances over at the house across the street. He jumps as Joe says in his ear "Looks like she's out." Kevin turns to him "Uh...ya...must still be working." "Or found someone better looking!" Joe says out of spite as he walks towards the front door. Nick walking behind him gives him a shove "Joe! Don't be a jerk. Haven't you caused enough problems." "Whhaatt? I was only joking!" Joe says spinning around to look at his brothers. Glaring angrily at Joe from behind Nick, Kevin says through gritted teeth "Didn't sound like a joke!". The three of them step into the house "Ah, it's good to be home!" Nick exclaims, Joe laughs "And in a couple of months when you get on the tour bus, you'll say the same thing about being on Tour." Nick grins "I like both, So What?" Without saying a word Kevin walks past them and carries his bag upstairs to his room. He opens his door and drops the bag on the bed, stepping to the window, and opening the blind to let the afternoon sunlight in. He leans on the window sill and gazes at Lisa's house. He smiles and whispers "Yeah, it's good to be home." Reaching into his shirt pocket he pulls out his phone, opening he dials Lisa's number having memorized it. The call goes directly to voice mail *must have it switched off* he thinks, he hangs up not leaving a message. He sends her a text 'Just got back r u still working' he closes the phone and sets it on the nightstand beside the bed. Turning to the bag on his bed he unzips it and starts to unpack his things, throwing all the clothes into the laundry basket by the bathroom door. Nick knock and steps in, he says surprised "Unpacking already? That's got to be a first." Kevin smirks and chuckles as he pulls his toiletry kit out of the bag "Yeah, I know you're usually the first one. I just needed something to occupy my mind and kill some time." "So have you called already?" "Yes, first thing I did, but her phones off. I sent a text." "No reply?" "Not yet!" Kevin says peeking over at his phone. "Well when you're done, come downstairs I got an Idea on the plane and I want to run it by you and Joe while it's still fresh." Kevin nods "Okay, I'll be down in a minute." Nick twists around and leaves the room, Kevin listens for Nicks foot steps going down the stairs. He steps around the bed, to the door, looking out into the hall to check that no one was around. When he is satisfied that both his brothers are down stairs he sighs and closes his door. Striding over to his dresser he sets the toiletry kit on top and unzips it, removing a small velvet box that was tucked inside. He opens it to reveal a gold necklace with a diamond heart pendant. He had seen it in the Resort Jewellery Shop and couldn't resist it. Now the only problem was when should he give it to her, or more to the point would she want it. They hadn't even gone out on a date yet, but as soon as he saw it he wanted Lisa to have it. Closing it he sighs hoping that it would happen soon. He opens the top drawer of the dresser, digging through the socks and underwear inside he places the box on the bottom and covers it over. Closing the drawer, smiling he grab the toiletry kit and takes it into his bathroom, setting it on the counter "I'll put that away later." He walks back into his room and over to the nightstand were his phone is sitting quietly. He picks it up and looks hoping to see a reply, nothing. He shrugs and opens his door and heads out of the room, as he closes the door he stops, and takes a last look back at his dresser.
