COLOUR LEMON --------------------- Of all colours this is one of the richest. Famous for its association with the fruit. Of all the fruits lemons are amongst the tastiest and juciest. A jucy lemon is a delight on the human taste buds. The outer space between the inner flesh of the lemon and the outer skin is usually not eaten (pith). However lemon skins are often employed by chefs and cooks in restaurants for the tangy zest. Lemon is also a popular flavour of tasty drinks and ice lollies. There are few sweet sensations that can match the refreshment of a lemon iced lolly on a hot summer day. (particularly when it's straight from the fridge or freezer (aka cooler or freezer box). COLOUR LEMON IN RELATION TO THE OTHER COLOURS OF THE SPECTRUM -------------------------------------------- Lemon is one of the well known spectral colours in the famous series VIOLET INDIGO BLUE GREEN YELLOW ORANGE RED. Yellow light is of a shorter wavelength than orange light, but of lower frequency than green light. When we talk of lemon light we often use the term light rays. In fact a light ray consists of electromagnetic waves, a helpful analogy being the familiar water waves on the sea, lake or village pond. One should keep an important fact in mind though. Light has a dual nature, in that it can also behave as if it consisted of light particles, sometimes known simply as photons.
