Title: HOY HOY HOY (2003) by Wayne Hancock live featuring Eddie Biebel on guitar View count: 54 Rating: 5.0 (1 ratings) Description: Wayne Hancock is an alternative country singer, and his music has been described as juke joint swing. He plays a mixture of honky tonk, rockabilly, Western swing, blues, and old-time country. Hancock plays lots of live gigs, mainly in small bars. He travels the country in a van with enough room for his musicians and equipment. "I'm happiest on the road....the fact that I'm out here and ain't washing dishes is my idea of success." This track 'Hoy Hoy Hoy' was done in the fifties by the Collins Kids, a teenage duo (see the video on YouTube). This version by Wayne Hancock was recorded in 2003 at the Continental Club in Houston, Texas with his then touring band John 'Eddie' Biebel on electric guitar and Chris Rhoades on bass. It's an audience recording and you can hear the crowd on this track having a good time. Eddie Biebel left the band in 2008 after playing with Hancock for 5 years. I love his playing, particularly live, and this song shows it off to good effect. There is no video for this version of the Hoy Hoy Hoy and I have made my own slideshow video. Comments are welcome.
