Title: How to Get to Heaven View count: 32 Rating: 0 (0 ratings) Description: How can I be sure I will make it to Heaven? This is a question that many Christians have asked since Jesus Christ ascended into the heavens almost two thousand years ago. Many attempts have been made since then to pinpoint one specific thing in the Christian life that would guarantee a place in the New Jerusalem. Through this speech, I will show you how a combination of prayer, Bible study, and assembling will guarantee you a future home in the heavenly city of the New Jerusalem. The first step on your Heavenly journey is prayer. Prayer is essential in the Christian life. It is important to pray every day. This is apparent in the life of Daniel the prophet who prayed three times a day; morning, noon, and night. Daniel 6:10 says, "Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime." KJV Prayer is our communication link with Heaven. Jeremiah 3:33 is like Heaven's telephone number; it says, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." KJV The Bible also tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to pray without ceasing. We can dial Heaven's telephone number anytime, anywhere. The next step toward Heaven is Bible study. Reading God's Word is just as much a part of communing with God as is prayer. God's answers to prayer are often found within the Holy pages of scripture. It is a good idea to study God's word in conjunction with prayer. According to Ellen G. White, in her book, God's Amazing Grace, the Bible should never be studied without prayer. God's word is the spiritual food for the soul. It is through His Word that we can truly come to know Him. And it is His Word that enables the Christian to see clearly on the heavenly path. Psalm 119:105 proclaims, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Finally, as you walk the straight and narrow path to the New Jerusalem, you should assemble with people of like faith. Christians should come together regularly to praise and worship God, and to encourage and edify one another. According to Hebrews 10:25, Christians should not forsake the assembling of themselves together, exhorting one another: "and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." On the moments when you stumble and fall on the path that leads upwards, your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ will be there to lift you up again. In conclusion, you can be sure that there is a guaranteed reservation for you in Heaven by actively combining prayer, Bible study, and the assembling of yourself with people of like faith. God is preparing a mansion in the New Jerusalem for you right now. Won't you come to Him today? Ask Him now, and He'll come into your heart. Tags: faith, heaven, jerusalem, jesus, Author: hajilef |
