Title: How to cook a Thanksgiving turkey View count: 4438 Rating: 4.695652 (23 ratings) Description: This is the Herb chicken/Turkey that everyone in my house goes crazy over. Its so moist and smells sooo good :) Here are the instructions :) COOK TIME AND TEMPERATURE MAY VAIRY. SO YOU MAY HAVE TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE INGREDIENT. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE COOKING INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BIRD :) You will need: Turkey or Chicken 5 tablespoons of Butter 3 Tablespoons of Poultry seasoning or one table of rosemary, sage and thyme ~Preheat your oven/roaster to 350 degrees. ~In a small bowl mix the butter and seasonings. ~SLOWLY loosen the skin from the neck to the bottom. Try your best not to tear the skin. ~Generously rub the herb butter under the skin. ~Add any remaining butter to the outside of the bird. If you need more just make more :) ~Tuck the wings and tie back the legs. This will help keep the shape and moister in. Oven Directions: Place your bird in the oven and baste every 15-30 minutes. If you notice your bird is browning too fast loosely tent your turkey with foil. If you notice its getting dry pour a small amount of water with butter into the bottom of the pan. The turkey is done once the thigh reaches an internal temperature of 180 degrees. Wait 15-30 minutes before carving. Roaster directions: Place a few chunks of butter with some water into the bottom of the pan. Cover with the lid and baste every 15-30 minutes. You can add more butter to the skin if you feel its getting too dry. Wait 3-4 hours depending on the size of your bird before you check the internal temperature. Once the thigh is 180 degrees your turkey is done. Wait 15-30 minutes to carve. Tips: If you see your turkey is browning too fast in the oven cover with foil :) Add water to the pan if its getting dry. if still frozen in the center place sliced turkey in pan with chicken stock and continue to cook if turkey is too dry place in pan with chicken stock or turkey juices. The meat will absorb the juice again :) Hope this works out for you guys! It was a huge hit last year in my house. Good luck and dont be afraid to throw your own twist on it :) Want to suggest a video?
