At first sight, the island of Horangido is a modern day paradise. It mostly consists of rural areas, with the small city surrounding the campus of Horangi National University as its biggest community. For as long as anyone can remember, the island has had a healthy population of tigers, who live peacefully in the remote areas away from the island's population. Folklore speaks of these tigers as not being animals at all, but a group of shape shifters, native to this island and looking to protect it from any invaders wanting to do it harm. These stories have been told for generations and nobody knows where they came from, or believe them to be true. During the last two generations, new stories have been added to the island lore, stories that speak of an enemy to the lands. Living at night and killing humans and animals alike, nobody is sure what this enemy is supposed to be, or how to get rid of it, but every now and again someone will utter the word 'vampire'...
